Story Origin of Name Simelungun

Simelungun is the name of one of the districts in the province of North Sumatra. In the past, before named Simelungun, this area is known as Kampung Nagur. However, because of an incident, the area later named Simelungun. What events led to the name change? Check out the story in the story Origins following Simelungun name!

Formerly, in the village of Nagur, North Sumatra, there is a small kingdom called Kingdom of Land Djawo. Batak tribe kingdom surnamed Sinaga is led by a just and wise king. In carrying out government duties, the King was accompanied by a strong and loyal commanders so that the kingdom is safe and secure.
Meanwhile, outside the Nagur, there are also two different kingdoms Batak tribal clans, namely the Kingdom Silou of clan Ancient Pond and the Royal Kingdom of the clan Saragih Garingging. Although different clans, the two kingdoms to establish friendly relations with the Kingdom Nagur. People they always live in harmony and prosperity. Third prosperity of the small kingdom was to attract the attention of other kingdoms to master it.
One day, word got out that the Javanese Majapahit Empire will come from the land of the Kingdom Land Djawo. Hearing the news, King Land Djawo immediate recourse to the kingdom and the kingdom Silou Kingdom. The two kingdoms were also expressed willingness to help the Kingdom Land Djawo in repelling of the Majapahit Kingdom.
Assistance provided by the Kingdom Silou Kingdom and the Kingdom of fact, can ward off even the troops from the territory Nagur Majapahit. The same thing happened when the Kingdom Silou under attack from the kingdom of Aceh. Both of these kingdoms, the Kingdom Land Djawo and the Kingdom Kingdom, help the Kingdom Silou until finally safe from danger.
One time, thousands of soldiers of unknown origin came to attack the three kingdoms in turn. First of all, they are the Kingdom Land Djawo, then the Kingdom Silou, and the last kingdom Kingdom. Although it has mutual aid, a third kingdom was eventually subdued as well. The attack was made of each king was forced to save themselves. The same is true of the people who ran helter-skelter avoid enemy ambush. They left the area in groups. During the time of the run, they have to move the place to avoid the pursuing enemy.
The fate of the refugees suffer. They were hit by famine and to various diseases. To survive, each group of refugees seek shelter each of which is considered safe. A group of refugees from the village of Nagur then find Misir Sahili land now known as the island of Samosir, which is an island located in the middle of Lake Toba. That's where they settled and open to shifting cultivation.
After a long time to settle on the island, they began orderly life. In fact, they already have children and grandchildren. One time, they felt longing to get back to my hometown in Kampung Nagur. They eventually held a consultation.
"Which of you who want to go back to the village Nagur?" Asked an elder as leader of deliberation.
Hearing the question, the majority of participants are reluctant to return to their homeland.
"I'm sorry, gentlemen. Why do not you want to come with us? Do not you miss the hometown? "Asked the elders to them.
"Sorry, Mr. Elders. Actually we were very homesick at home. But, we already feel at ease and comfortable stay in this island. This place is like a hometown alone. After all, who would keep the livestock and fields if everything come back to my hometown? "Said one of the workshop participants.
"Yes sir Elders, children and grandchildren we also had the pleasure of staying in this island," said the other workshop participants.
"Alright then. For those who want to stay here, I hope you still take good care of this place. For those who wish to return home hope soon to prepare everything, "said the elder.
The residents who wish to return home immediately made preparations accordingly. They finally went to Kampung Nagur. After days of traveling, they finally arrive at Kampung Nagur. When he arrived home, some residents seen crying. They remembered the events that befall their village first. Their houses are gone. Only plant shrubs and trees that look thrive.
"Sima-sima nalungun," they said.
Since then, the village changed its name Nagur-Sima Sima Nalungun, which means a desolate area. Over time, people call Simelungun. Until now, said Simelungun still used to refer to the name of a district in North Sumatra province.

This is indicated by the nature of the three kingdoms mentioned above. Although different genera, they always help each other when one of them afflicted.
