1. Body Energy Sources
The primary function of carbohydrates is a major supply of energy for the body. Each gram of carbohydrates produces 4 kkalori.Keberadaan carbohydrates in the body, mostly for blood circulation as glucose for energy purposes, mostly found in the liver and muscle tissue as glycogen, and partly the rest is converted into fat to be stored as energy reserves in the network fat.
2. Smooth Digestive System
Foods high in carbohydrates are rich in fiber which serves digestive system and bowel. Fiber in the diet can help prevent obesity, colon cancer, diabetes mellitus, and coronary heart disease associated with high cholesterol.
3. Optimizing Protein Function
When the daily carbohydrate needs are not met, then the growth will take the protein as energy reserves. As a result, the function of the protein as a builder substance is not optimal. Meet the needs of carbohydrates will make proteins carry out its main task as an agent of the body.
4. Set Fat Metabolism
